New Ingredients Exhibit – Experience Pilsner Urquell with All Your Senses
We’ve got exciting news! Since May, our brewery tour includes a brand-new Ingredients Exhibit. During an immersive audiovisual experience, you’ll discover the raw ingredients that go into our iconic Pilsner Urquell beer. And it’s more than just a visual experience – you can touch, smell, and even taste the ingredients yourself. More information can be found HERE.
The Beer That Changed the World
Discover the history of the beer that inspired more than two-thirds of all beers worldwide! The first golden lager Pilsner Urquell in the world saw the light of day in 1842. It gained popularity mainly due to its characteristically full taste. Pilsner Urquell is still made from the same high-quality Czech ingredients, using the same original process. The original recipe has never changed, which is why our lager is unique. Come on a tour of the Pilsner Urquell brewery and find out more about our beer!
What to expect on the tour?
Bottling facility
You will take a bus from the brewery courtyard to see the bottling facility one of the most modern of its type in Europe. You will see a line where beer is packaged into bottles at an impressive speed of 120,000 bottles per hour.

Ingredients Exhibit
After visiting the packaging plant, you will take the biggest personal elevator in the Czech Republic to a unique panoramic cinema. In a short film, you'll uncover the secrets behind the brewing of Pilsner Urquell. After the screening, you'll move on to a brand-new Ingredients Exhibit. There, during an immersive audiovisual experience, you'll get to know the raw ingredients that go into our iconic beer. But it doesn’t stop at just looking – you can touch them, smell them, and even taste them.

Brewhouses
While wandering through the beer production plant, you will also stop to look at historical brewing kettles from 1931. You will also peek into a modern brewhouse from 2004 with a daily capacity of almost 3,000,000 beers, and naturally there will be a presentation of the entire Pilsner Urquell brewing process.

Brewery cellars
You will also visit the brewery cellars, which are 9 kilometres long. You will learn what a fermenting tub is and what we call a beer blanket. Plzeňský Prazdroj still brews some of its beer in these premises just like the first brewmaster, Josef Groll, did by fermenting beer in open tuns and maturing it in oak barrels.

Tasting of unfiltered beer
What kind of tour of the Pilsner Urquell Brewery would it be without tasting its lager? Adult visitors will have a chance to try unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell poured straight from an oak barrel. You can taste this beer only during the brewery tour or as part of the experience programme in Šalanda. After the tour, you can also order it at our Na Spilce Pub.

Souvenir shop
The tour ends at the souvenir shop, where you'll find everything from clothing and accessories to beer and personalized gifts with your own text. You can also explore our offer on our e-shop!
